Counselling through MET de wijk: at home or in a residential setting
MET de wijk is the unit of MET ggz that focuses on counselling people with mental health issues. We support you in achieving your personal goals. This may include goals relating to housing, personal care, work, study, leisure, purpose in life and social relationships. We offer counselling in people's home settings (at home, Thuis MET begeleiding) or in one of our residential settings (assisted living, Wonen MET begeleiding).

We work together toward a single goal: the shortest possible path to recovery for you.

Treatment via MET behandeling
MET behandeling offers therapy in the form of consultations with a psychologist, intensive treatment or crisis care. In mental health care, we distinguish between monodisciplinary and multidisciplinary mental health care.

In monodisciplinary mental health, a single practitioner is involved in your treatment process. A few conversations are often enough to get you back on track.

In multidisciplinary treatment, multiple types of practitioners are involved in your treatment. As a rule, this is a collaboration between a psychiatrist and a psychologist (and other providers involved in treatment).  Multidisciplinary treatment takes longer. This can range from 6 months to 2 years.

Attention to cultural differences: culturally sensitive care
We consider cultural backgrounds in our counselling or treatments. This is important to us, because we are committed to ensuring our counselling/treatment will suit you. Our staff have an eye for people's values and lifestyles, and have the knowledge, attitude and skills to customize the counselling and treatment accordingly.

Open and understandable communication is important. This is why we offer the option of using an interpreter when necessary to provide proper counselling and/or treatment. We provide the basic information on our website and in our leaflets in several languages.
